Throwback Thursday

Today's Throwback Thursday again features our first born.
Being a November baby this photo,
judging by my growth may have been January 86.
I guess I was on annual leave.
He's now 28.

Funny French Shoes - Wednesdays in France

In 2010, Sue took me to Paris for my 60th birthday.

There was a shop in the Marais where I'd bought shoes preciously.

I still have those shoes after four years and I still love them.

Comfortable - yes!!!

Maybe I'll buy another pair soon.

I'm not sure if John Mellancamp agrees with my taste in shoes

 but sure do like his music.

Spring comes to Melbourne

Spring returns to Melbourne

in colours of purple and green

And what was - is now.

The changes in our home.

The lighting probably doesn't do justice to the photos but we went from heritage old world to modern light.

This what we've been told will be more appealing to the young family wanting a home with charm.

The colours open up the space and make the rooms look larger.

I still have another two rooms to paint before we rip up the carpet and then sand and polish the Baltic Pine floorboards.

Shopping Center Art Gallery

Today Sue and I went to the local shopping centre - I hate going there. I'm sure many men feel the same but today it actually was an enjoyable experience starting with coffee and croissants. I then bought 2 pairs of pants and a pair of shorts for our trip to Italy and France in 2 weeks time.
But along the way there was an art exhibition by local artists showing scenes of Melbourne.

Luna Park, Princes Bridge and Melbourne trams are all icons of our city.

As are our arcades with little boutique shops and cafes

Then there is the bayside boulevard of Beconsfield Parade which I ride at least once a week.

Flinders Street Station needs no other introduction other than to say - this is Melbourne

THROWBACK THURSDAY

It was 1985 and our first son Andrew Cameron Sims was born. Today he has a double degree and about to complete his PHD. How quickly does time fly by?

We had not long moved into our 1929 Californian Bungalow house that would be home for the next 30 years. Another son came along two years later - Mitch is somewhere in Holland, then Italy and France. Andrew lived in England for two years and from memory has visited 17 countries in his 28 years.
I wonder where their lust for travel came from?

Possibly a year later the boy had grown and we were off to our first little holiday - the car was packed and ready to go.
