WORDS - a NO PICTURES Weekend

Usually our Friday's are our introduction to the weekend starting with bubbles, a nice meal and a relaxing night in front of the Tellie. Not this Friday - it was very special in fact a Fab Friday.

Why Fab Friday - Well Friday was the day our son Mitchy arrived home from Montreal, Canada. Not without tribulation, his trip back home was quite an ordeal. Flying out of Montreal after sitting on the Tarmac for a little time he connected with the second leg from Toronto to LA. Again he was delayed, sitting on the tarmac and in danger of missing his connecting flight from LA to Melbourne.
Guess what - the flights didn't connect and so Mitchy spent the next 24 hours mulling around LA airport and found a spot between two phone booths to get some kip.

Meanwhile Sue didn't sleep either (Me Too) with constant SMS messages and then following Mitch's flight path on her iPad. So finally 24 hours later than we expected, we picked up the boy from Melbourne Airport.

Needless to say, he spent most of the weekend sleeping - it's good to have hime home.

There's not a great deal to report on this post as it was mainly about our small family getting back together before Mitchy's next big adventure. Having said that, our other son Andrew is currently travelling through Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria before returning to studies back in London.

Such is Life!

Looks like an "out of Melbourne" weekend coming up so we should have a more informative post then.

  1. Nothing worse than flights that go wrong and one arriving after the next has left. I feel for your son. Glad though now it is all over and you are all together again and catching up on sleep. Take car, all of you. D & N

    1. D&N - yes but he's only slightly less messy than before he left.

    1. Thanks LLM - I'm sure we will until he moves again. I think he enjoyed being independent.

  3. Too bad he didn't have my number. I am so close to LAX I could have picked him up and taken him out (depending if I worked or not that day, and I work long hours). If you ever need my #, you know how to reach me on FB.

    1. Nadege,
That's a very kind gesture but if ever we fly by LAX, we'll buy you a coffee.
